Launch of 1st ECR Community Annual Global Trends
ECR Community has launched the 1st ECR Community Annual Global Trends.
Each of the 19 national ECR Associations in LatAm, Asia and Europe are connected with many local retailers, suppliers & service providers which represents an enormous network of companies throughout the world.
And as the global retail & CPG marketplace evolves continuously, especially with ever changing shopper behaviour, new technological innovations and geopolitical influence, ECR Community is well positioned to access this enormous global network to determine what matters most for companies.
To this extent, ECR Community will release an Annual Global Trends commencing this year which will allow for the identification of trends & challenges and the emergence of global hot topics over many years.
282 participants from 19 countries completed the 1st ECR Annual Global Trends Survey in January 2025, and the results are revealing.
80% of CEOs expressed concerns about inflation & cost management making it their most pressing challenge.
Operational efficiency, supply chain resilience, inflation, price sensitivity, economic instability and labour shortages emerged as top priorities for the Retail & CPG sector for the year ahead. Undoubtedly, the global cost of living crisis and political uncertainty are chief contributors to these being priorities.
The influence of AI & importance of sustainability is obviously very apparent throughout the world and it will be interesting to track their progress.
59% of retailers & suppliers overwhelmingly predict the biggest change in consumer behaviour will be an increased focus on affordability & value, while 10% of retailers & suppliers estimate the increased emphasis on health & wellness as being the major consumer shift this year.
